How's Your Trusting - Pastor Ekpenyong

Mark 9:24 NASB “Immediately the boy's father cried out and began saying, "I do believe; help my unbelief."”

Trust is not an obligation we owe God, it’s a privilege that He makes available to us. We are invited to trust God and by so doing we open the door to a life of peace, joy and fruitfulness.

When we mix a healthy portion of trusting God into everything that we do, it enables us to live without worry, anxiety, fear, reasoning, or debilitating stress.

Nothing is too small for God to be involved in where His children are concerned.

Since individuals tend to be self-reliant and independent, it usually takes us quite a while to learn how to trust God.

Trust enables us to live without weights, burdens, or cares because we have confidence that another will deal with those things for us. Instead of feeling that we are continually carrying a heavy load, we can enjoy a wonderful lightness in our souls.

Putting our trust in God and casting our cares on Him requires that we make a decision to do it.

If you are yet come to the point of being able to trust God totally, it is best to be honest with God about it. We all have some doubt mixed in with our faith at times.

Be like the man in our opening text who honestly asked for help and the good news is that he received his miracle.

We are growing and learning to trust God more all the time, but growth takes time and there is no reason to be condemned if your trust in God is not perfected yet.

Rendered Powerless - Pastor Ekpenyong

Hebrews 2:14 - 15weymouth Since then the children referred to are all alike sharers in perishable human nature, He Himself also, in the same way, took on Him a share of it, in order that through death He might render powerless him who had authority over death, that is, the Devil, and might set at liberty all those who through fear of death had been subject to lifelong slavery.

You couldn’t have finished reading our opening text and not break out into praise because the devil has been stripped of his ability to steal, kill and destroy. Halleluyah!

He has being rendered powerless by Jesus our elder brother who came in flesh and blood; the arena where we were perpetually harassed so that we would live our lives free of fear of the devil and fear of death.

The tool the devil uses today is deception and that’s why he is called the father of lies.

For this, we are not ignorant of his ways and that is why we do not give him space.

One thing that stands out in all this and which you must never forget is the Father’s love for us that caused Him to come in our defeated state of flesh and blood to defeat the devil on our behalf.

We are absolutely FREE of fear and no longer its slaves.

Whom Are You Considering - Pastor Ekpenyong

Hebrews 12:3NKJV “For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.”

The beautiful thing about our walk of faith is that you are never alone in your quest no matter how long you’ve been there.

You must understand that you will be misunderstood and ridiculed when you choose to live by faith because the world is sense-ruled and hence considers your acts of faith insane.

For example how do you think those in Abraham and Sarah’s day reacted to them when they changed their names in response to the promise that they will have children as numerous as the sand on the seashore?

Jesus patiently endured and according to the Greek rendering of that word, it means to stay under.

He persevered under the intense pressure of ridicule and shame and was neither discouraged nor did He ever quit. Halleluyah!

It is therefore nothing new to be ridiculed because you believe and are acting on what God said to you that doesn’t make sense to anybody else.

Don’t get discouraged nor quit.

Glory!

Be Open To The Unknown - Pastor Ekpenyong

Deuteronomy 8:3TLB “Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to both you and your ancestors. He did it to help you realize that food isn't everything, and that real life comes by obeying every command of God.”

Most times in our lives, we always seek for ways to be secure and sure because most of us hate to be surprised; we like to have an idea of what to expect.

For forty plus years, the Israelites were given a meal that made them ask one another questions; literally a whatness so to speak.

God didn’t call it manna, neither did Moses, rather Moses said “this is the bread that the LORD has given you to eat.”

You must realise that as you journey through life, the processes do not change neither do the requirements.

Father God desires you depend and live by His word, realizing that food and the material isn’t everything.

It is mandatory that you retrain your senses to have more confidence in the word than in what you can touch and feel.

Turn to the word, look for patterns and receive illumination as you tread the unknown paths ordained for you.

Your successful existence in life is dependent on the word.
