Set on My High Places - Pastor Ekpenyong

Psalms 18:33NKJV "He makes my feet like the [feet of] deer, and sets me on my high places."

Something that distinguishes the deer from other animals is the precision and speed in its steps as it navigates dangerous heights and paths.

It is the very emblem of mutable intelligence, bouncing ease, of light and bounding gracefulness, which clears every obstacle, and sweeps swiftly over the hills. It also communicates the ease in flight, adaptable gait and swift advancement.

What a contrast that is to the way in which most get through their day's work; the monotony of trivial, constantly recurring doings, the fluctuations in the thermometer of our emotions, the stiff bits of road that we all encounter sooner or later; and, as days go on, the diminishing buoyancy of nature.

However, we are so BLESSED that inspite of the twists and turns of life, there is steadiness in our steps and buoyancy in our spirits that comes from the Gospel of peace.

A divine gladness that perpetually keeps us light hearted so we can live above the vicissitudes and trials of life because we know that we have the victory and that all things are working together for our good.

Comparison Blocks Your Gift - Pastor Ekpenyong

Acts 5:1-2amp
“There was a man of the name of Ananias who, with his wife Sapphira, sold some property but with her full knowledge and consent, dishonestly kept back part of the price which he received for it, though he brought the rest and gave it to the Apostles.”

Everyone has his/her proper gift to serve in a specific way that edifies the body of Christ and humanity.

Your gift is always an answer and never a problem. It is unique and intentional in purpose and design.

Lots of people are not aware of their gifts and others have neglected their gifts because it seems so ordinary to them.

Since we all crave to be accepted and welcome, sometimes we compare our gifts to others; attempting to measure if we belong.

However, God’s grace allows us to function in a myriad of ways that are uniquely personal.

From our text scripture, it is very probable that Ananias and his wife Sapphira sold their piece of land out of envy that Joses had been named Barnabas (Son of Consolation) because of his generosity.

Your own gift is more than enough, and once you uncover that gift, you can walk in freedom, grace and gratitude.

They wanted to be recognized as well but functioned out of fear and fear always causes people to hold back.

Go ahead and be what you were made to be, without comparing yourself with others, or trying to be something you are not.

Embrace this grace for it will release a God-given confidence in you for the moment and make a place for you in the body.

Glory!

Resolving Inner Conflicts - Pastor Ekpenyong

Isaiah 29:13NIV “The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”

There is a huge difference between a culture where obedience and compliance are the bottom line and a culture where relationship is the bottom line. The contrast is perhaps seen most clearly when people fail.

It is heart issues that lead to mistakes and until we learn to deal with what is going on inside of us, we simply cannot learn to manage freedom because God, the Father, is less interested in compliance and much more interested in love.

This is the reason that He is trying to prepare us to live absolutely free lives in an environment of unlimited options more than trying to keep us from sin. Halleluyah!

Our responses to circumstances will either be right or wrong, depending on the accuracy of our interpretation. If I try to change my response to circumstances just because I know it is the right response, while continuing to perceive things the same way, I will be in conflict with myself.

Let your heart therefore align with the Father’s perspective and desire so that your response to circumstances will not just be right because it is right to so do but because your interpretation is consistent with the Father’s will.

Our inner conflicts are quickly resolved not because our responses are always  right but because our perspective aligns with the Father’s will.
