Envy Obscures Your Gift - Pastor Ekpenyong

Acts 5:1msg “But a man named Ananias — his wife, Sapphira, conniving in this with him — sold a piece of land”

Everyone has his/her proper gift to serve in a specific way that edifies the body of Christ and serving in this way will make room for you at the top.

Lots of people have neglected their gifts because it seems so ordinary to them so that they envy those flourishing in theirs.

However, God’s grace allows us to function in a myriad of ways that are uniquely personal.

From our text scripture, it is very probable that Ananias and his wife Sapphira sold their piece of land out of envy that Joses had been named Barnabas (Son of Consolation) because of his generosity.

They wanted to be recognized as well but functioned out of fear; which always causes people to hold back their best.

Go ahead and be what you were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing yourself with others, or trying to be something you are not.

Embrace this grace for it will release a God-given confidence in you for the moment and make a place for you in the body. Glory!
