Matthew 11:28WUEST “Come here to me, all who are growing weary to the point of exhaustion, and who have been loaded with burdens and are bending beneath their weight, and I alone will cause you to cease from your labor and take away your burdens and thus refresh you with rest.”
The exhaustion and stress level in today’s world is so widespread that it has become the reality of so many and unfortunately even the believer.
Many have thrown in the towel surrendering to defeat and given up in despair for lack of knowing what to do in the face of unnerving and death dealing challenges. Oh the turmoil of the unyielded soul and the ignorant believer in these frustrating times.
Our opening text is the great invitation of our Father who loves us and cares even about the minutest detail in our lives. It is this love that obliges Him to call us to prayer.
For it is in the place of prayer that we exchange our cares and burdens for His comfort and peace.
The believer, who refuses this invitation for whatever reasons, has been robbed of the satisfaction and delight His presence ever so guarantees. He even assures to refresh us with rest.
